What do you love most about sponsorship marketing?

Being a matchmaker. Connecting a corporate partner who has the urge to make a purposeful impact in their community to one of our programs or events is one of the most rewarding feelings. With yearly community events, public-facing programs, and top line STEM education initiatives, the possibilities are endless when it comes to finding a fit for our partners!

What is one of your favorite things about Space Center Houston?

Being the official visitor center to NASA Johnson Space Center, we are one of the top tourist destinations in Houston. It’s called Space City for a reason! What people don’t realize is we have one of the top STEM education programs in the country here at Space Center Houston. We also host a yearly music festival that focuses on tech, aerospace, and STEM which is something that truly separates us from a lot of other museums and visitor centers

What is one of your best practices?

I always like to keep our partners engaged and never create a cookie cutter partnership. Whether it’s a title partner doing a speaking opportunity at our education programs or hosting an exhibit booth during our Moon 2 Mars Festival. We always push our partners to think outside the box and come up with new and innovative ways to engage with our guests!

What is something you are excited about in the future?

With our increasing attendance year over year, we are starting to reach out building capacity on high volume days. Because of this, we are on a strategic journey to expand our current footprint and create new and exciting opportunities to engage with our guests. In doing so, we will increase our overall guest experience year round!

What inspired you to join SMA? OR What inspired you to attend the Summit?

Sponsorships have always seemed like a “sports” or “events” type of world. After moving to Space Center Houston from the Houston Open, a PGA TOUR event, I realized how sponsorships and partnerships could transcend to the museum/science center industry. Shortly after joining the SCH team, I signed up for the 2022 Summit in Seattle, and was blown away by the knowledge that I left with and was sold on joining SMA!
