About Talking Ship
Talking Ship is a cordial, maybe a bit rowdy, roundtable conversation for SMA members, facilitated by SMA members. This is our chance to hang out on a Friday and tell it like it is. Tough conversations. Bring it on. Big problems. We’ll find answers. Bold ideas. We’ll celebrate and refine them. This is where SH#! HAPPENS.

Research Insights that Inform and Inspire
Jed Pearsall Ed.D, is the President & Co-Founder of Performance Research, an organization he launched in 1985 when he realized third-party research and evaluation was a vital missing piece in sponsorship marketing.
Jed has led sponsorship research platforms for many of country’s top sponsors, including Visa, Coca-Cola, AB In-Bev, and Visa. A few of the many rights holder clients Performance Research has worked with include NASCAR, Broadway Across America, and NCAA.
In collaboration with SMA and Performance Research, we recently conducted a comprehensive study to gain a deeper understanding of the thoughts and perspectives of rights-holders and sponsors. During this roundtable session, Jed Pearsall will share key insights from the study and lead an engaging conversation aimed at demystifying research and making it an enjoyable experience for all.
Gain exclusive access to valuable insights as we delve into the most crucial objectives for sponsors and what they expect from rights-holders. Furthermore, we will explore how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted sponsorship plans and strategies, providing a comprehensive understanding of the ever-evolving sponsorship landscape.
We recognize that research and data play a pivotal role in achieving success and improving results. This roundtable is an opportunity for SMA members to come together, lay our cards on the table and discuss how we can effectively utilize this valuable information to accomplish our goals.
